The aura of romance captivates even the most stoic. Struck by the prospect of love, we faithfully follow, some times in the face of tremendous adversities, even betraying better judgments. Yet, while we chase the initial fulfillment of our hearts, the fire of passion often wanes with time. In fact, long-term partnerships begin to face increasing challenges roughly around the two year mark that threaten the affectionate bond formerly so strong and seemingly invincible. How can we skillfully navigate the perilous adventures of loving partnership to assure longstanding harmony? Is monogamy even pragmatic or make sense? What is love??  

I’m commencing co-facilitating a Men’s Circle here in Toronto which will focus primarily on working with the archetypes of the King, Warrior, Magician & Lover, informed by the profound works by Robert Moore & Douglas Gillette on the subject, which have significantly evolved my life. Archetypes are incredibly important to work with and the reclaiming of them is an essential aspect I believe of humanity’s evolution currently on the planet. Archetypes represent the way consciousness as a universal force organizes itself in the human being. The science of working with the archetypes was understood by ancient cultures to stunning degrees in the institution of rituals, rites of passage, rigorous self-development, etc. to activate and actualize these forces as foundations of ensuring our lives enfolded nobly.

*Author’s foreward: Please note that this practice can be utilized by same sex and differing sexed partners alike. I have honed the article to speak to a heterosexual context as that is my proclivity and what I understand. For those of homosexual and other sexual diversity, the practice remains the same, aside from the heterosexual healing aspects I have included in terms of healing relations between men and women as is my prejudice. The healing aspects to couples of other proclivities are analogously powerful and I look forward to knowing more about their potentiality and actuality. I have intentionally not written the article along gender neutral terms because my own experience with this practice in regards to rectifying my own heterosexual healing is integral to my expression. While I know this makes the article exclusive, I hope that this may catalyze other writers of other sexual proclivities to write of their own experiences as they would better understand the contextual healing and needs than I. I hope that there is something in this for all to appreciate. May we all be uplifted by a deeper practice of sexuality in sacredness.
